It all started with Stage 4 breast cancer.

Jacquie wasn’t trying to launch a business with her mom, she just wanted a break from the daily conversations about doctors, scans, surgeries, and chemotherapy treatments. Medications kept her awake through most nights so, she began drawing. What poured out was soft, whimsical, and full of life.

Turns out insomnia & a bit of imagination can lead to something magical.

When her mom, Gail, saw the artwork, she felt something spark. She began hand-embellishing each piece with shimmering detail & sparkle, bringing Jacquie’s work to life with glittering detail. And now they really had something fun to talk about. (Some of that fun involved laughing at just how bad some of Jacquie’s early designs were. And, discovering that Gail might be just a little color blind).

Sparkles & Splatters was born not from a business plan, but from Love, Resilience & the need for something joyful to focus on.

Before long, the family joined in. It was more of a “If you can’t beat em’, join em” adventure but everyone decided to help. Jacquie’s husband, Marc, dad, Jan, and brother, Kevin, all offered support to help grow what started as a quiet escape into something vibrant & beautiful. Art became a way to shift the energy in the room, to talk about something fun, sparkly & positive instead of the weight of illness.

Today, Sparkles & Splatters is a collection of fun-filled embellished prints, greeting cards & more. Thoughtful gifts, that are a little reminder that beauty can bloom under the most difficult circumstances.

The family turned this little passion project into an adventure where every purchase supports a journey of Love, Hope & Creativity.

What began as a personal outlet has become a celebration of all the little things that make life brighter. A true testament to the power of positivity and most importantly the beauty of imperfection, one sparkle, one splatter, one smile at a time.
